A Week to Remember

With snow, ice, rain, wind and all that goes with it -what a week. Staff unable to get to work , offices and shops shut for a few days. Business suffered and will not be picked up.

Good news however ; Halifax reported a slight rise in house prices in January. More mortgages were arranged in January against December 08. A few finance house saying they are open for mortgage business. Trouble is that the deposit is hard to find for first time buyers. There was also reported that gazumping had returned in the city of London. Is this all good news . YES IT IS!!!!

Is it thew green shoots of recovery, NO - but still positive news.

It will be back to normal soon with lighter nights coming and maybe a slight rise rise in temperatures. Business will still be hard won and we have to cut our cloth to react with the business overheads. These are extreme business times and staying calm is the way to act. The banks I deal with mainly HSBC and Barclays have been listening to me and have supported my requests for help. All we want now is sales.

Spring is just around the corner and hopefully happier times.
