small business

For those running a small business company , the backbone of this country's enterprise economy the increase in red tape and and tax keeps dragging back the progress made.

Most small company owners complain about the tidal wave of regulation, health and safety madness, unfair employment laws, complex tax rules and other costly directives from government.

Most of us who run those small business's want to be captain of our own little ship and improve service and look after the staff. The business is more of an extended family !!

Has the government lost the plot when dealing with small companies ? those employing fewer than 50 staff still account for nearly half of all jobs in Britain.

So with the increase in interest rates will this winter see the screw tighten and a number of small business go under. We all hope not !! How we all love to wander up a shopping street window gazing in all those wonderful niche shops. Lets hope they do not die.

I can always tell when business starts to slow up. The staff start to dress to impress the boss and attention to service improves. If only it was always like that. In my 40 years in business I have always put customer service and prompt action at the top of the list . May it always continue.

Summer is finally here for a few months all our insurance premiums will now go up to pay for all the flood damage and we shall have to watch how we spend our money.
